Six Reasons Why

The Cloverfield is a monster or horror film which produced by J. J. Abrams and written by Drew Goddard. The film follows five young New Yorkers who throw their friend a going-away party on the same night that a gigantic monster attacks the city. Before the film's release Paramount Pictures carried out a viral marketing campaign to promote the film. The campaign included viral tie-ins similar to Lost Experience. First publicized within a teaser trailer in screenings of Transformers, the film was released on January 17 in New Zealand and Australia, on January 18 in North America, on January 24 in South Korea and on February 1 in Ireland, in the UK and in Italy. In Japan, the film was released on April 5.

Oppening The Rambo 4 film with newsreels of the crisis in Burma. Burma (now known as Myanmar) is under the iron fist rule of Than Shwe and takes harsher stances against the nation's pro-democracy movement. Rebels are thrown into a mine-infested marsh and then gunned down, while a cigarette-smoking Burmese military officer gazes grimly at the scene.

The Rambo makes a living capturing snakes and selling them in a nearby village. Former soldier John Rambo has returned to Thailand and now resides in a village near the Burmese border. He also transports roamers in his boat. A missionary, Michael Burnett (Paul Schulze), asks Rambo to take him and his associates up the Salween River to Burma on a humanitarian mission. Rambo refuses but is convinced by Sarah Miller (Julie Benz) to take them.

The pirates stopped boats who demand Sarah in exchange for passage. After negotiations fail, Rambo kills them all. Although his actions save the missionaries, it greatly disturbs them. Upon arrival, Michael says that they will travel by road and will not need Rambo's help for the return trip. The mission goes well until the Burmese army attacks the village, killing many villagers and two missionaries and kidnapping the rest. When the missionaries fail to come back after ten days, their pastor comes to Rambo to ask for his help in guiding hired mercenaries to the village where the missionaries were last seen.

Rambo pushes them to continue after they see the destroyed village and rambo accompany the soldiers. Hijacking a truck, they create a plan to save the hostages at the P.O.W. camp, doing so within fifteen minutes to avoid alerting the army. Rambo helps Sarah and the others to escape. The Burmese Army unit finds their hostages missing and organizes a massive manhunt. Everyone except for Rambo, Sarah, and "School Boy" is captured. Just as the group is to be executed, Rambo hijacks a truck-mounted .50-caliber machine gun and engages the Burmese army. A group of Karen rebels joins the fight to help Rambo and the mercenaries defeat the Burmese army.

Rambo returns to the United States, Encouraged by Sarah's words. The last scene shows the him walking along a rural highway, past a horse farm and a mailbox with the name "R. Rambo" on it. John Rambo makes his way down the dirt driveway as the credits roll.

Into The Wild 2007

Into the Wild is an actual student-athlete at Emory University, recounts the life of Christopher McCandless, as told by his sympathetic sister. In response to a materialistic, manipulative, and domineering father, McCandless destroys all of his credit cards and identification documents, donates $24,000 (nearly his entire savings) to Oxfam, and sets out on a crosscountry drive in his well-used but reliable economy car towards his ultimate goals to live alone and off the land in Alaska.

Along the way, he loses his automobile to a flash flood, inspiring him to hitchhike his way there after burning the remainder of his dwindling cash supply. He encounters many unconventional individuals on his itinerary as he purposefully trudges onward to his final destination, arriving in the wilds of Alaska nearly two years after his initial departure when Taking an unintentionally circuitous route. He starts living in a "Magic Bus" serving as a shelter for people walking in the area (though in the film there is nobody else). Resourceful, McCandless finds joy in living off the land, and begins to write a book of his adventures. Unfortunately, as the spring thaw arrives, he is cut off from civilization by waterways. As his food supply lessens, he resorts to eating plants. Although he consults a brought-along book about the edibility of plants, he confuses an edible and a poisonous kind, which turns out to be fatal. As he dies, he continues to write, detailing his painful demise as a dramatic denouement to his autobiography.

Prince Caspian is a 2008 fantasy film based on Prince Caspian, the second published novel in C. S. Lewis' children's fantasy series The Chronicles of Narnia. V for Vendetta Rapidshare

V for Vendetta is a 2006 action-thriller directed by James McTeigue and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers, who also wrote the screenplay. The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. Set in London, England in a near-future dystopian society, the film follows the mysterious V, a freedom fighter seeking to effect sociopolitical change while simultaneously pursuing his own violent personal vendetta. The film stars Natalie Portman as Evey Hammond, Hugo Weaving as V, Stephen Rea as Inspector Finch and John Hurt as Chancellor Sutler.

The film was originally scheduled for release by Warner Bros. Pictures Friday, November 4, 2005 (a day before the 400th Guy Fawkes Night), but was delayed; it opened on March 17, 2006. Alan Moore, facing his disappointment in both From Hell and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, refused to view the film and subsequently distanced himself from it. The filmmakers removed many of the anarchist themes and drug references present in the original story and also altered the political message to what they believed would be more relevant to a 2006 audience.

In the corridor he meets Lee, thrown out of another class for bad behaviour. At first, Lee sees Will as an easily manipulated lackey but after Will sees a pirated copy of First Blood and throws himself into the film making experience, the two realise how much they each need a best friend.

Speed Racer

Speed Racer is an upcoming 2008 film that is a live action film adaptation of the 1960s Japanese anime series Speed Racer. The film is written and directed by the Wachowski brothers who also serve as co-producers. The film had been in development since 1992, changing writers and directors until producer Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers collaborated to begin production on Speed Racer as a family film so the directors could reach a wider audience. Actor Emile Hirsch was cast as Speed, the hero of the animated series, and Christina Ricci portrays Speed's girlfriend, Trixie. Speed Racer was produced in Germany at Babelsberg Studios, where filming took place entirely against greenscreen. The Wachowski brothers also filmed in high-definition video for the first time, using a layering method to put both the foreground and the background of scenes in focus to have a real-life anime appearance. Marketers have prepared toys and video games to coincide with the film's release. Speed Racer will premiere on May 3, 2008 as the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival, and will go on general release on May 9, 2008.

88 Minutes is a 2008 film drama directed by Jon Avnet starring Al Pacino, Benjamin McKenzie, Alicia Witt, Leelee Sobieski, Deborah Kara Unger. Amy Brenneman and Neal McDonough. Filming began in the Vancouver area on October 8, 2005 and wrapped in December 2005. The film was released in various territories during 2007.

In May 2007, TriStar Pictures acquired all U.S. distribution rights of 88 Minutes;
TriStar Pictures released this movie in the United States theatrically on April 18, 2008. In Seattle, the successful forensic psychiatrist and college professor Jack Gramm is in evidence since he was responsible for the condemnation of the serial killer Jon Forster, influencing the jury to sentence Forster to death row. Forster accuses Gramm of manipulation, inducing one witness and the sister of one of his victims to testify against him.

On the eve of Forster's execution, Gramm receives a phone call telling him that he has only eighty-eight minutes of life left. Meanwhile, someone is copycatting Forster, killing women with the same modus operandi and is being investigated by the Seattle Slayer Task Force.

With the support of associate Shelly Barnes, an FBI agent, plus his friend Frank Parks and his assistant Kim Cummings, Gramm investigates some weird and problematic students, a security guard of the campus and the woman with whom he had a one-night stand as his 88 minutes continue to tick off the clock.

Leatherheads

Leatherheads is a 2008 American film from Universal Pictures directed by and starring George Clooney. The film also stars Renée Zellweger and John Krasinski.

Plot
Clooney plays Dodge Connolly, captain of a struggling professional football team in the 1920s, the Duluth Bulldogs. Dodge is determined to save both his team and pro football in general when the players lose their sponsor and the league is on the brink of collapse. He convinces a college football star, Carter "the Bullet" Rutherford, to join the Bulldogs, hoping to capitalize on Carter's fame as a war hero.

In addition to his legendary tales of combat heroism, Carter has dashing good looks and unparalleled speed and skill on the field. As a result of his presence, both the Bulldogs and pro football in general begin to prosper.

Zellweger provides a romantic interest as Chicago newspaper reporter Lexie Littleton, who becomes the object of the affections of both Dodge and Carter. One knows but the other doesn't that Lexie has been assigned to find proof that Carter's war heroics are bogus.

Meanwhile, Dodge's attempts to legitimize pro football start to backfire, as rules are formalized, taking away much of the improvisational antics that made the game fun for many of its players.With his own playing career near an end, Dodge gets to play in one last big game. This time it will be against Carter, who has changed sides to the Chicago team. Their rivalry for Lexie's affection spills over onto the football field for one last day.

The Ruins

The Ruins is the second novel by American author Scott Smith, whose first novel was A Simple Plan. The Ruins is a horror story set on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It was released on July 18, 2006 (ISBN 1-4000-4387-5). A film adaptation of the novel was released in the United States and Canada on April 4 2008.

Plot summary
The novel follows a group of tourists on vacation in Cancún who decide to make a fateful visit to a set of Mayan ruins. Two American couples (Jeff & Amy; Eric & Stacy) decide to help a new-found German friend, Mathias, look for his brother Henrich, who has supposedly joined an archaeological dig.

"Pablo," one of a group of Greek travelers, goes as well. The other Greeks say they may follow later. Following a crude map that Henrich drew for Mathias, the group makes its way to a location 11 miles outside of Coba. The taxi driver who has brought them the last step of the way tells them their destination is a "bad place," but they continue on.

Soon the group stumbles upon a Mayan village, whose inhabitants ignore them or indicate that they should leave. The group finally finds a path to the ruins, though someone has tried to conceal it. Following the path, they find a clearing, beyond which is a hill covered in vines and red flowers. A villager suddenly appears on horseback, armed with a pistol. He wants them to leave, but other villagers, armed with bows and arrows, soon appear and the Mayans begin to argue among themselves. Amy, trying to take a picture of the scene, backs up to get a better shot and mistakenly steps into the vines. After this happens, the Mayans change their behavior and will no longer let the tourists leave. Mathias investigates what looks like a nearby mound of flowers, and discovers the corpse of his brother, riddled with arrows. As he tears off the plants, his hands are burned by the acidic sap of the vines. The Mayans watch but do nothing.
